Another band that absolutly needs to be added is "Serenity" They're not very popular, but an amazing sound. Fans of Kamelot, Symphony X, and Sonata Arctica should take a listen.
Symphonic Power Metal.

Weapons change over the years. First it was the Sword. Then it was the Gun. And now, it is the Guitar.

Hmmm. Serenity DOES sound pretty good, but other singers overshadow the lead singer.
Here'z my list:
30 Seconds To Mars
Alter Bridge
Breaking Benjamin
Chevelle
Disturbed
Earshot
Flyleaf
Hoobastank
Isis
Lacuna Coil
Linkin Park
Lostprophets (only 'cause of Shinobi vs Dragon Ninga)
MuteMath
Nightwish
Ra (yes, I mentioned it)
Red
Rise Against
Seether
Sevendust
Silverstein
The Bithday Massacre
Tool
Within Temptation
Since WolfesScythe threw in a lesser known band, I will 2! Dendura isn't really amazing, but it's unique. It's a "female-fronted Egyptian themed progressive metal" band.
