Has anyone else picked up Ben's solo album, A Dream Between Two Fires? Because I have to say, I was REALLY surprised by how incredible it is...Ra is generally known for heavy, chunky riffs underneath soaring vocals, and tend not to utilize guitar solos very much (with the exception of short ones in songs like Sky, I Lost Everything Today, Waste of Space, etc). So I had honestly had no idea just how technically proficient Ben Carroll was. But let me tell you...wow, am I impressed with this album. Not only does he play like a virtuoso throughout the entire disc, but the melodies he creates are fantastic...it's a funky, heavy, and in many ways, experimental album, and I absolutely love it.

Standouts for me are: Note To Self, Melting Through Pt. 1, Meth Lab and A Dream Between Two Fires. But really, every track on the album is amazing.

Couldn't be more surprised or impressed with the guy! I ordered it from Ben's website and got it signed...I recommend everyone on this forum do the same, if you haven't already.

I haven't bought it yet, but what I've heard was very good. Tasteful not fast for the sake of fast.

Those records are from a different Ben Carroll...*grumbles* name thief. But if you want to hear what I've been locked in the studio working on...check it out here. :)

Good stuff! My favs are "Head West", "Sickened Heart Trap", and "Lies Built on Lies". I'd say "Head West" has the most potential for being an awesome single. I also still enjoy "Take Me Away".

first off let me say that dude you shred!! A Dream Between Two Fires is great, loved it, you can tell that David Gilmore/Pink Floyd was a huge influence on you, "The Darkest Corner" i really liked very "One Slip-ish" and "Dropping" is bad ass Posted Image Posted Image one person had posted that there is Joe Satriani, Steve Vi, and now Ben Carroll, i couldnt agree more!!

i checked out that link you put up, sounds good, real good, look forward to the release, good luck with the search
